Question: How do i beat this meth addiction?
(Posted by: twineclipse on 2007-05-10 12:30:21)
They say the biggest miracles come from the most unexpected of places. I have been addicted to injecting meth for almost 5 years. Its destroyed everything in my life, given me cancer and AIDS and even though I got back on my feet for awhile, its doing it again. I dont want to lose the precious love I have had returned to me in my life... my sweetest dog - Nitty Woos, my dedicated mother, or my best friend and most loyal of companions - Brad, or all the worldly but important things Ive earned back, such as my health or my car. Please, I cant stop using... Ive tried so hard. I dont want to die like this. I will give anything to find a way to never do it again, if only I could. If you are listening, God, please... take this burden from my soul and I will be free... |

Rehab if it is possible...money can be an issue I know. Be 100% honest with those that you care about and that care about you. Surround yourself with love all the time. You can't trust yourself and no one else should either. Be with people all the time and let them know why. Find support in AA or NA or church or any other large group of people that can help to support you. My aunt and uncle go to AA and my aunt has assisted in quite a few around the clock watch sessions so that people can safely go through withdrawals and if something really wrong happens there are people there that can call 911. No one can beat addiction alone. I have never had to beat an addiction; however my whole life has been filled with addicts. There is help out there. It should like you have the inner drive to quit but as you already know it takes way more then that. I do have one addiction, smoking cigs. I couldn't quit if I wanted to. I have wanted to quit badly and I have never been able to successfully do it. It is minor compared to what you are talking about but I know what smoking has done to me and I have lost a lot of people I love to meth so I can sort of imagine. Surround yourself with everyone that you love and the some. Have them watch you. And try the support groups, those people will understand you more then anyone else because they have been there. Good luck to you and hope you overcome this terrible addiction. |

Go into a rehab and DONT check yourself out like a lot of people do. if you really want to beat this addiction you have to act like you want to. |

Go to rehab or a methadone clinic to start off then you just have to stay away from it and be strong. |

You need to go to rehab. It's not easy, but the decision to stop using is yours and yours alone. You need to make a choice. |

You definitely need to check yourself into rehab, and stick it out until the very end. If you're really serious about quitting, rehab is the safest way, and it's also the most likely to succeed. |

Why don't you look at the ingrediants and then go to the store and buy one of them like nail polish remover or anti-freeze,then proceed to ingest it,of course common sense will stop you from even thinking about following this advice , think of that the next time you want to do meth , meth is a thing a human being is ALWAYS stronger than a thing!!! poeple who say religion will get you thru are wrong,I've known lots of supposedly saved people who went back, only you can set you free |

I can't relate, but I'm sure that you must have addiction centres to go to?? GOOD FOR YOU for having the courage to reach out! Keep reaching!!!! You deserve a better life. God be with you as you make the next step and for the rest of your battle. Don't let those drugs STEAL YOUR LIFE! Keep believing - find your higher power to give you strength. Bless you. :) With love. |

If you are that set that you want to quit, my suggestion would be to get some help from a rehab facility. But they say rehab only works if you really want to quit and it is you saying it and not anybody making you do it. My mom's friend's son was addicted and went to rehab once on police orders and once he got out, started again. Now he is clean because he went to rehab a few months later on his own terms and said that that is what made the difference. Knowing that it was for him and not anybody else. Also, don't leave the center until you are ready and absolutly sure that you are completely free of any holds the drug has on you, then only surround yourself with people who are clean and can keep an eye on you for a little while. Cut yourself off completely with anybody who ever has done drugs with you or are using drugs at the time. I think that would be your best bet. Good luck, I hope you beat it. |

There is someone around you whom you liike to get high with you have to omit that persin from your life. It may be your best friend or lover whom ever it is anything that stimulates the thought of getting high disguard it.. rehab is a good way to get clean but when you come back every one who was there before is still there change the situation around you.. |

You obviously need help. i suggest some motivation. You could go visit sucess story people or people who havent overcome it and how bad its gotten. just get something through your head that meth is stupid, a waste of time, money, and think about all youve lost and you can lose if you dont stop. |

Hey sweetie, i am a recovering crack head and my name is christi, no really, have you been to meetings? did you change every thing? my husband and i are both recovering addicts- he was heroin and pills , i was a lunatic crackhead and the one girl is right ...pray and pray andpray even if you dont have a god do it anyway...1. we admitted we were powerless over our addictions and our life had become unmanageable 2.we came to believe that a power greater than ourselves COULD restore us to sanity 3.MADE A DECISION to turn our will and our lives over to the care of god, as we undertand him meetings are to make new friends that dont use and they canrelate to your feelings as the new comer, you can always im me or my husband if u just wanna talk, we both are online sponsors thru a program we found....let go and let god |

I will be praying for you and the outcome - I know that this addiction like so many is detrimental and so devastating. Have you tried to go to drug counselling and/ or check yourself into rehab, if you do it your family will realize that you are still trying to keep kick this thing and that you have it and it doesn't have you. God hears and he is going to help you - you have to trust that you can be delivered and once he delivers you stay out from those same haunts and hanging with those people who enable you and are doing the same thing. Please God we are agreeing on this situation that you will set him free and give him exactly what he needs. |

Aa meetings for substance abuse , change your lifestyle if your friends are involed you might have to detach yourself... you cant worry about what they will think about you kicking the addiction, getting clean has to be the number 1 priority in your life. It has to be where you can NEVER revert back, you have to say goodbye to that life all together. it might be hard but there are other ppl just like you havent and probabally will never earn the resect back from those they have lost it but you are 1 of the lucky ones who isnt going through it alone. you seem to have your head in the right pace now you just have to give in everything else, its a constant struggle... i have seen these addictions destroy ppl so close to my heart and i will keep you in my prayer. the best of luck Lucy. also remember not to lose hope... |

The good news is you have admitted you have a problem, which is the most important step to recovery. You need to get into an inpatient rehab program right away. I would suggest going into a halfway house after you complete your initial stay, probably 28 days. Do not give up. I'm sure you've heard "one day at a time " but if you really live like that it will work. Sometimes even taking it one hour at a time would help. |

If you want to be clean bad enough, you can do it!! If you are really serious about this, put your mind to it and just do it!!! I don't think every drug addict needs rehab but if you think you do, then go.. But stay there until your treatment is complete!! You have to quit hanging out with those so called "friends " you have that do drugs and get yourself a support group. If you are really serious about this.... Pray to God and He will set you free from this addiction. I wish you all of the luck in the world and I hope everything works out for you!! |

Rehab is my answer. It may be hard and you will probably want to quit but it will help.Give all your money to your parents so you can't buy any more meth. When your off it,ask them for it back and don't let them give it to you until you're off. |
