Question: What are the psychological consequences of someone who has abused drugs like crank crystal meth & crack?

I'm breaking up with someone who had a history of drug abuse. Reason for the break up - too many arguments. He creates things/ situations in his head, drastically gets details wrong in course of events, and well, we moved in together 2 months ago. House needed lots of work, i'm a full time student, and i would work my ass off and so would my family all the time to improve things/ repair things etc. His friends made a joke to him 'maybe ya can't get her on the phone b/ c she's cheating on you' he took the thought, and not only believed it without any real reason other than he couldn't get me on the phone for an hour b/ c I was stripping the kitchen floor on my hands and knees and had heavy chemicals on my hands. He has never treated me right, and he recently became very abusive... telling me he had been 'cut off from sex for 3 weeks and he wasn't waiting any longer' told me i could stay in the house, but had to find another place to go at the weekend b/ c he was gonna get laid & didn't want me around. Any thoughts?

Here is a thought... Get away from him. These two drugs are very bad and people usually go back to them in times of crises in their life. He has a history of mistreating you, drug abuse and sounds like a jerk. find somewhere else to go and leave him for your safety. Paranoia, Delusions,His brain has holes in it from the drugs. Wow, this is a ridiculous situation. You may want to try and calmly talk to him about your thoughts, but there's no way for you to stay in an abusive relationship. Find a friend to move in with asap, and stay away from this guy. Also, try and get him professional help. It sounds like he needs a lot of help. As for your initial question (What are the psychological consequences of someone who has abused drugs like crank crystal meth & crack?), there are a lot of different consequences. They can make themselves phsyically ill through psychological aspects, which is a major problem, because the only way they can become truly well is through fixing the initial, purely psychological problem. These are powerful drugs that I have personally never been around, but can only imagine the psychological, as well as physical and emotional damage they can cause to a user. Good luck, and please get him help. You could save his life. :]

Chronic use frequently leads to symptoms such as neurotoxicity (brain damage), respiratory problems, irregular heartbeat, and irreversible damage to blood vessels in the brain—producing strokes, heart and kidney damage, cardiovascular collapse, and death.
