Crystal Meth Users

Question: How can you identify a crystal meth user?

I think my roommate may be using it but I'm not sure. I found a waterbottle with a hollowed out pen shoved through it in her fridge. What does it look like and smell like? She isn't in a chemistry class. Over how long of a period would it take to rot her teeth?

Some common signs include: dilated pupils loss of appetite & weight loss increased alertness; insomnia &/ or disturbed sleep patterns excessive talking increased heart rate rise in body temp. increased perspiration &/ or B.O. declining personal hygiene exaggerated aura of well-being aggressive/ violent behavior nervousness LYING! hallucinations paranoia acne, sores numbness moodiness and irritability rotting teeth (occurs from long-term abuse) ... but those are just SOME of the possible signs of methamphetamine use. Odd items related to use: an abundance of lighters butane torches glass 'incense burners' taken apart light bulbs empty pen casings cut-off straws small (like those 'extra button' sized) baggies bent spoons syringes PORN! For whatever reason, my husband became obsessed with burning candles everywhere... I've also heard that's pretty common. Obsessive compulsive (tweaking) behavior! When they get started on something, they don't stop... for HOURS! A few examples include cleaning, organizing, taking things apart (with no idea how to put them back together!)... whatever they start on, they don't stop. You will notice the pattern of increased alertness / hyperactivity / tweaking, followed by the 'crashing' period. Crashing = excessive sleeping, extreme irritability, and increased appetite... especially for sweets. Meth can be in a powdery form (more like salt granules-- but not uniform in size/ shape) or larger, crystal-looking "shards ". It can vary in color, but will usually be somewhere from a light yellowish tan to totally clear. One way you can test the pen casing that you found (or any others in the future) is to tap on it over a piece of black paper... you'll be able see the salt-like granules fall onto the dark paper. Meth is very bitter to the taste, but is usually pretty much odorless. Even if your roommate IS smoking it in your home, you might not smell anything. If you do smell it, it'll have a faint kind of "burnt shower curtain " smell. I hope I've been helpful! Source(s): Wife of a recovering meth user

She could be doing an experimentation for chemistry class? update: LOL, maybe learning chemistry as an extracurricular activity on the side?

Bad teeth. Crystal meth will rot out your teeth. How long it takes for her teeth to rot is dependent on the amount and the impurities involved. In the meantime, look for erratic behavior. Nervousness, short attention span, paranoia, short temper, etc.

You'll be able to tell from her behavior.She will lie,steal and be a real pain in the @$$.She won't sleep much for a few days and then will want to sleep for a long period of time.Her friends will be users and she'll lose interest in all her old friends and lifestyle.They talk alot and twitch or grind their teeth.She will blame all of her problems on the people around her.Eventually resorting to alternative ways of paying for the drugs as she loses everything she values.Ask her about it and just act curious.If she gives you a logical explination odds are she's innocent.If she becomes paranoid and hysterical she's lying.
